FODMAP is an acronym for a group of sugars and sugar-related molecules found in common foods and can be poorly absorbed in the small intestine

  • Fermentable
  • Oligosaccharides (fructans and Galacto-oligosaccharides),
  • Disaccharide (lactose),
  • Monosaccharide (fructose in excess of glucose) and
  • Polyols (e.g. sorbitol, mannitol)

We have created a list of common foods that fall into the High FODMAP and low FODMAP categories. This is by no means an exhaustive list. Feel free to use this list to experiment with eliminating foods from your diet that may be causing issues. To start the experiment you need to eliminate all foods in the high FODMAP list for 2 weeks.
